Catch up

Hi everyone,

So today I have decided I really want to just share some bits with you. A month ago I have finished my exams and completed the 4th year of my studies and am now taking a summer off (working just a bit) until I start my internship in September in Basel, Switzerland.

I know I have once again been offline for ages and I really do want to fix this, so here is my (again) first post back, sharing something very exciting. My boyfriend has graduated last week and I was very anxious as to what to wear. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a new dress but I still wanted to feel elegant and chic. I was over the moon to see Nasty Gal having a 50% discount on all dresses including one I thought was perfect. It's called Bias Cut Square Neck Satin Midi Dress and I found it to fit flawlessly and not be too tight (as we were heading to dinner later).

If you wish to check it out this is the link -

Please let me know what you think,

Much love,

Mia

fresh start

I always wanted to blog. I always felt the need to share what I was thinking and feeling with others. It was in high school when I finally gave it a try. I also loved YouTube but was convinced others from school would stumble upon it and never wanted to risk it. I wonder why that is. Why was I so embarrassed by the fact that I wanted to share my stories with others.

Well that is what happened. I remember we were in class and someone had just opened my blog on their phone and started passing the phone around. I was so eshamed, I immediately stopped uploading content and deleted the Instagram I have created for it. Looking back on it today, I wish I had continued doing what I loved.

Three years have passed since and now time is what is pulling me away from blogging. Somehow I feel if I started I would never have time to post regularly. But then again, you always have time for things important to you. So here I am, no more fears, no more excuses, I am giving it another try.

Has anyone ever experienced something similar?

An with that short ramble, I hope you enjoy my content. As my first post back I wanted to share with you some photos from my recent holiday in Santorini, Greece. Santorini is absolutely gorgeous but ridiculously overpriced.

Lots of love,

Mia

Moving to Scotland

Hey everyone,

so last September I have officially moved to Edinburgh, Scotland to attend the University of Edinburgh. I have been here for about six months now and am in love with the city. Although leaving Croatia to move to the UK sounded scary at first, 6 months into it, I am happier than ever. From exploring the gorgeous city, to the excitement of being a fresher and making new friends, I am so happy I got to experience it.

I wanted to share with you some of my favorite photographs so far. These include photos taken when walking down the Royal Mile (1), one of my favorite streets in Edinburgh, Princess St (2) - a street known as a shopping destination in Edinburgh and my favorite location - Arthur's seat (3,4,5), a mountain only 20 minutes / 30 minutes away from the city center and a perfect get-away from the reality.

Hopefully, you like them as much as I do.

Loads of love,

Mia

Hi again

I’ve been interested in fashion and in art as long as I can remember, and although many wouldn’t agree, I find both being similar, if not the same. Fashion impacts us, it makes us feel, it enables us to express ourselves, just as art does.

I created this blog about three years ago when everyone got into fashion blogging and all of a sudden we wanted to become recognised and work in a field we before thought wasn’t possible. I kept it up on and off for about a year and a half, I thought posting outfits of the day and week was what people wanted to see, but in the midst of a crowd I felt lost, not standing out, not being myself, not making a change. So I took a break. Not only a break from fashion, but of writing, which I always found to be a passion. I have recently watched the Future of Fashion series by Alexa Chung on Vogue and it reminded me of what I loved so much about fashion. I was once again filled up with the emotion and ambition I had years ago to try again, even if I couldn’t succeed. Today, I spent thinking about what I would want to share in my blog and I’ve realised there is so much more than a simple outfit of the week. I have realised one of my favourite things is being inspired, and I would love to share those with you. By being a typical 19 year old, browsing through tumblr, I’ve realised there is something so effortless about vintage photographs, clothing, movies, or anything past-inspired.  Looking at the following photos inspires me. And as I am off to watch Scarface, I wanted to say I am glad to be back and hope that this time I’ll stay. Because it’s so much more about being recognised, it’s about sharing my passions with you and hopefully you can share yours with me.

Loads of love,

Mia

Portugal - Instagram diary

Hey everyone,

so I have done one of these entries earlier this year and called it "Greece - Instagram diary" (you can read it here). As well as I, you guys liked the idea of me showing you the breathtaking and fun photos I took on my trip instead of just babbling on about how amazing my trip was.

And as you know, I am obsessed with Instagram haha. You can follow me here - @mmiaxx if you haven't already :) I follow back.

Anyhow, I had an amazing time with my entire class as this was a graduation trip. We spent a full week exploring Portugal staying three nights in Lisbon and three nights in Estoril. Not only did we get to explore this beautiful country, we got to hang out with the locals, the tourists and one of my favorite parts - see what it has to offer besides the typical touristy attractions. Not to forget, we got to swim in the ocean which was such an amazing experience!

What I love most about visiting a new city, or country, is not only discovering the shiny and exaggerated parts, but experiencing the life of the city/country. Having seen the positive and the negative parts I have gathered a lot of knowledge and am glad to say I would come back to visit any day.

So, without further adieu, here is my Instagram diary of the trip to Portugal :)

I hope you liked the pictures as much as I did. I have definitely made great memories during this trip.

Much love,

Mia

OOTD - AUTUMN

Hey guys,

to start of I just started my last year of high school and I'm both a nervous wreck and super excited. I cannot wait to be leaving for college next year and I do hope I will continue blogging and share with you all my experiences.
Since my 18th birthday, which was about two weeks ago, nothing much has changed, obviously haha, but I have decided to try and become a better and happier version of myself. Having that in mind I started doing Yoga and Pilates, which I wanted for such a long time! Also, I really am trying to find time for blogging but my schedule has been so full it's crazy.

Anyhow, the weather is quite nice here in Zagreb, Croatia and I was actually able to wear shorts the day before yesterday. This outfit I wore was one of my favorite during colder summer evenings. I love the simplicity and the color shades as well as my new Zara boots with which I am currently obsessed with! They're so comfortable and easy to style, it's crazy! I can literally wear them with anything.

I hope you like the outfit :)

I was wearing:

shorts: Mango

bag: H&M

Thank you for reading and commenting (I read all of your comments).

Much love,
